Nigerian League Club, Lobi Stars FC have denied reports linking it to Manchester United outcast, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Makurdi based club refuted the report that it has offered the five time Balon d’ or winner a contract after the star’s contract was terminated by United.

Lobi Stars FC denied making a move for the Portuguese player via an official tweet saying,

“Please be informed that #WeAreLobi is yet to make any contact with representatives of #CristianoRonaldo following his release from Manchester United,” the Nigeria Professional Football League said in a tweet on their verified handle late Wednesday. “We wish him the best & #LobiStars will make no further comment on this.”

Since Ronaldo’s contract termination, (after he granted an explosive interview to Piers Morgan), the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been shockingly linked to several clubs across the world. His rumoured move to the NPFL club, Lobi Stars appears more like a banter and a mere comic relief for football fans.
